Half time at Harchester v. Man City, and as he watches from home, Liam decides to ask Gemma to join him. When he gets no answer at the door, Liam peers through the kitchen window, where Gemma is lying collapsed on the floor. Liam phones Amy as the paramedics take Gemma away, and she fetches Jimmy from the dugout. They arrive at the hospital and Jimmy is told that Gemma has slipped into a coma following a medical emergency from her injury. Jimmy begs the doctor to save his daughter. At the game, Jason’s fears of going on can take no more, and runs from the bench to everyone’s confusion. After they win, Sully lays into Jason, accusing him of doing a bunk because he was in a strop about not being selected. Steve follows, yelling that he had to answer questions from the press about Jason's behaviour whilst Gemma is in hospital. Jason doesn't try to defend himself and bolts out, leaving the team believing they are right about it being pure arrogance. Sully is spooked when he sees Kim hanging around with Amy. Rachel arrives at the hospital and Jimmy informs her that Gemma is having an operation as she has internal bleeding.

Tony meets Sully where he tells him of how a move to Fulham would be perfect for him, but Danny isn't interested, stating he was at the club before Jimmy Craig and will be too after him. The doctor tells Jimmy and Rachel that whilst the operation was a success, they'll have to wait until Gemma wakes up to see how she is. The next day the press are having a field day with Jason, concentrating more on him than the team's current 3rd place position. Sully is unnerved to find Kim chatting with Amy as if they are good friends. Jimmy catches sight of the newspaper article on Jason, and heads to the training ground to take his frustration out. When Jason is unable to explain, Jimmy demands he apologise to the boys, and afterwards makes Jason do a press conference alongside Amy. The press don't accept Jason's story however, and when they lay into him Jason flips and yells at them to get stuffed! An irate Jimmy tells Jason he is finished at Harchester. As Kim keeps up her games with Sully, he meets with Tony, where he asks the agent to make the Fulham deal happen.

Jason drinks away his troubles in Studs, and a group of men come over angrily accusing Jason of thinking he is bigger than the Dragons. Deano and Phil manage to get Jason out before trouble starts, and when Jason drunkenly humourises the whole situation, Deano is not impressed as Jason had been given every opportunity he wanted, and punches him in the stomach! That night, Katy tries to get Jason to explain what happened. Jason opens up that it was down to fear - how everytime he has something good he screws up and it gets taken away from him, and he knew it would happen if he was put on. When Katy suggests he explain to Jimmy Jason is dead against it - saying he'd rather go to another club and get a trial there. Amy is confused when Danny informs her Tony is seeing about getting him in at Fulham, and hits the nail on the head when she asks if Kim has anything to do with his decision, and he backs away from the conversation. Katy pays Jimmy a visit, where she informs him of what Jason's real problem is.

Jason gets a shock at breakfast to find Jimmy standing in his kitchen. Jimmy invites Jason back to the club, adding his sacking was "yesterday”. Jason learns Katy has told Jimmy everything, which he is embarrassed by. Jimmy tells him not to be, and says it's time Jason learned to leave things in the past, otherwise they will continue to affect his present. Kim turns up at the flat, and gives Danny a shrill lecture about how she learnt of his move to Fulham from the press. She accuses Sully of running away, adding that he can't take what they did. Kim storms out, after threatening Sully that she will tell Amy one way or another. That may not be necessary, as Amy comes out and asks him what is going on. She susses that the Fulham move isn't what Kim is really angry about, and Sully confesses they slept together on Christmas Day. Amy is heartbroken, and cries that she saw her future with Danny, before running out. Before the Charlton game, Sully asks Amy to come to London with him, but she says no, as she cannot trust him to change when he has not only cheated on Kim but now her. Tony overhears, and Danny tells him to do whatever it takes to get him out of the club. During the first half, as Jason warms up as a sub, Tyson goes down injured. As he is helped off the pitch, Jason at last makes his first team debut.
