Frank is waiting for news of Conor at the Baker’s. Des explains upon catching up with him they thought they'd persuaded Conor to stay, but then he ran off onto a train and Sean was unable to reach him. Frank believes they all missed the ball on what was going on with Conor, and Des and Lynette agree. The next day Brenda turns up at the flat annoyed Warren is late for the start of his community service, as he was visiting his dad with Mandy. Georgina sees Lucy in the sports club and makes sure they sit down together for coffee. Georgina is spooked when Lucy asks how the jacket went down with the boyfriend she was trying to keep hold of. Georgina replies he hated it of course.

Des worries to Lynette how the Conor situation may affect their position with the club as a boarding house. Frank speaks with Brian McCarthy, and is surprised when Conor won't come on the phone to speak with him. As they are now supposedly friends, Georgina offers to help Lucy out by persuading her dad to do a piece with the radio. Jacobs doesn't take too kindly when he believes Lucy put his daughter up to asking. After finally being let in to paint the suspicious Mrs Peters’ bathroom, Warren storms out when she has a big burly bloke come in to keep an eye on him. Brenda reminds Warren he shouldn't act like a criminal if he doesn't want to be treated like one, and Mrs Peters has been burgled five times.

Michael tells Georgina it's not wise for her to befriend a journalist when he is the chairman, and she should have friends her own age. Georgina reminds him all her friends are back where her mom is, and Lucy is the first friend she has made here. Michael agrees to be interviewed by Lucy if it makes his daughter happy. Lucy promises it will be a profile of the man behind the club and strictly professional. With Kayleigh at her mom's, Mandy gets ready for a night out. Warren stops to tell her how Kenny suspects she has another fella, and has got mates watching her, plus asked Warren to do the same at the prison today.

Fletch asks Lucy whether she'd go out to dinner with him as a thank you for the interview they did before. Dean comes along and Fletch makes a swift exit, before Dean grimacingly learns how grateful Lucy is to Georgina for getting her dad on side for a chat. Mandy suggests she and Warren go out together if he's worried about Kenny killing him over her social life. Frank must bite the bullet and inform Jacobs about Conor's departure. Jacobs is convinced another club has tapped Conor up, and they'll hear about it within a month. Frank doesn't think so, but Jacobs then reveals it cost him £100K to bring Conor to the club.

Jacobs explains half the clubs in England plus Scotland were after Conor, so it was an arrangement with his dad. Jacobs says the issue here is the six-million-quid they'd have got when they sold Conor in four years time. Sean tries it on with Georgina, and knowing he is Dean's brother she is more interested this time. Lucy sees them and remarks to Dean Sean must be her new man. Dean looks on, clearly irked. Jacobs arranges a flight to Belfast, but not for him, for Frank!

Notes:

·          The Best: Lucy still having no idea the still-hanging-around "dreaded ex-girlfriend" of Georgina’s boyfriend is in fact her. Also Georgina’s story to Lucy on how a "friend" of her mother's ended up cheating on her husband because he spent all his time at the radio station office instead of with her. Lynette likening Des's mascot stint to him "Prancing about like Poof The Magic Dragon".

Foreshadowing: Frank says Michael was always a fitness fanatic, while Jacobs believes he still could show the players today how it's done [#1.29].

·          Continuity: Frank and Michael refer to the brief time they would have been playing together (mid-70’s).

Additional Info: Mandy tells Warren she is 25-years-old and isn't going to be told what to do by some "kid" (even though she is probably closer to Warren's age than Kenny).

·          Soundtrack: Rosie Gaines: "Closer Than Close”,  Dannii Minogue: "All I Wanna Do",  Oasis: "D'You Know What I Mean?".
