GS: Doctor Bradley (James Richardson) Paul Hankin (Leigh Cranston) Kelly is not enthused about going with Eddie to the fashion show, and Ann decides to take her for a makeover to boost her confidence. At training, Luis reminds Ray they will be near his farm when they face Yeovil in the FA Cup tie, and Ray requests the following day off to see Kitty, who is still working on the farm late into her pregnancy. Wes talks to Billy about needing to move out of The Grange, with wedding parties keeping him awake at night. Luis goes down with a twisted knee after colliding with Scott, and rests it in the dug-out. When Jerry and Gordon sit in the stands to watch training, Jerry phones Ray and asks why Luis isn't with the team. Gordon suggests Luis is more preoccupied with his upcoming international, and Jerry agrees, also believing the cup tie against Yeovil Town wouldn't be a priority for Luis. Jerry offers Gordon the role of Director of Football. Gordon finds the role tasty but tells Jerry he will have to think about it. Dr. Bradley examines Luis's knee, but believes he will be fine for Yeovil and they'll keep an eye on it. Billy offers Wes the spare room at his, and Wes is grateful. Marilyn asks Luis why he's been avoiding her for the past three days, he tries to brush it off with how he's been busy with the UEFA Cup next week, and FA Cup before that. When Luis refers to Marilyn as a good friend she knows what's coming. Luis tells her he is in love with another woman, although she doesn't love him anymore. A hurt Marilyn says she hasn't seen him with anyone, if it's a woman in Harchester and not Argentina. All Luis can say is he's sorry and she asks him to leave her, going quiet. Luis confides in Ray about his dilemma, and remarks he would love a farm with his woman and would never want to leave. Marilyn goes round to the Block's and asks Lynda not to say anything about seeing her with Luis the other day. Lynda says she thought nothing happened between the two of them, but Marilyn adds it did but Luis is in love with another woman who doesn't want him. Marilyn thinks the other woman must be mad to reject Luis, and it sinks in for Lynda that Luis really does only want her. A shopping trip with Ann sees Kelly suited and looking the part, and Eddie is fretting about Mcing at the fashion show. Kelly suggests he just be himself and he'll be fine, though comes to regret that as Eddie’s chauvinistic personality comes out on stage. Billy helps Wes carry his things into the flat, and opening one of his bags sees Wes has weightlifting gear. Wes explains it's something he's carried on since getting picked on when younger. Billy remarks they'll never let Scott try anything like that again. Ann prepares Didier for meeting local press The Harchester Chronicle, and the style of questioning he is going to face, as previously in France there were certain things the press would not ask. Didier has to deal with the dreaded Paul Hankin, and Ann curtails his questioning when it moves from football to Didier missing the film star location of Monaco and the girls. Ann is interrupted by a call from Michael, who says he's found their 'new' dream home and is standing in its garden right now. Ann goes out to take the call and Hankin spots his golden moment to grill Didier. Hankin brings up Didier's girlfriend in Monaco who is claiming he is the father of her child. Didier gets exasperated and storms out, while Ann herself is frustrated by having both let Didier down and by Michael's actions in selling the house they'd just bought in Harchester for one in London. Ann tells Kelly she's had enough and it's over between her and Michael. Notes: The Best: Wes becoming Billy’s new flatmate, continuing to fill the void left by · The Worst: Luis really is a hero of a manager. But his treatment of Marilyn here - using her as a substitute for Lynda and letting her think they had a chance, was probably the worst thing he did during his time at the club. Continuity: Billy tries to get it out of Wes how it went with he and Zena. Wes is flushed and can only say Zena's a nice girl but it was just the once. · Additional Info: In his football playing days, Gordon played as a wing back. Didier is unable to play the upcoming West Ham game as the club are unable to register him until the post-Christmas window. Soundtrack: Macy Gray: “Why Didn’t You Call Me?”, Hardwire: “Conskank”, Powerhouse Feat. Duane: “I’ve Got What You Need” |
