Luis and Lynda watch Fletch interviewed as Real Mallorca prepare to face Harchester. Luis is desperate to play, and gets on to Lynda about selling her shares to Prash so he can find another club. A letter is delivered for Lynda, and it's from Marilyn who says she'll be pleased she has sold her shares to Prash and not Jerry. Lynda knows this means neither Jerry nor Prash can take overall control without her shares. Fletch is back at The Lair signing autographs for a gaggle of fans, and Jeff informs Billy Everton have come in at £2M which isn't enough so he's to play a blinder out there today.

Ann wants Kelly to introduce her to Fletch as with his profile he’d be a valuable client, though Kelly is uncomfortable considering their past. Lynda meets with Prash as the first half continues, where he has come round to her price of £5M, but she again repeats her term that Luis is released from his contract immediately. Prash won't agree, so Lynda says she will talk to Jerry. This pushes Prash into compromising that he'll let Luis go at the end of the season. Maxine takes charge of obtaining Lynda's shares, and Lynda puts it to her sister that she will give Jerry her shares for free if he lets Luis go immediately. Jerry reluctantly comes round to this, if it means securing his club.

Billy goes down with an ankle injury following a misled tackle on Fletch. The final whistle goes and a goal-down Harchester have a tough challenge ahead of them. Fletch has a drink with Luis and Lynda, where he presents Luis with a VHS of the FA Cup Final day recorded by Sean. He says Lynda might not want to see it after what happened to her, but a good way to remember everyone who died. When Ray tells Jeff his pressure got Billy injured, Ray points out Billy wouldn’t have come to him if he had been happy. Ann is excited when Fletch is onboard with her being his UK PR, and as she sits with him and Didier a seething Scott comes over to snarl how the three of them think they are so cool.

Fletch approaches Ray, and informs him it isn’t as rosy as it seems for him in Spain, and if the other strikers hadn't been injured tonight he knows he would have been on the bench. Ray asks him if he's looking for a move and Fletch responds it's time to come home. Luis and Lynda watch the video of the Cup Final day, and at a part where the team are about to board the coach the background captures Jerry exchanging briefcases with an unknown man in a car. Lynda believes this is the man who shot she and John Black, as why else would Jerry be dealing like that with somebody that close to kick-off? She tells Luis they can use this to bring Jerry down.

Notes:

Terry Kiely’s second regular stint as Karl Fletcher begins from this episode, last being seen in 3.7.

·          The Best: Fletch, who has fitted right back in as if he has never been away. The trio of Fletch, Lynda and Luis toasting to the good old days last season pre Wembley shooting and plane crash. The cleverness of having Sean’s camera recording capture the guilty shot of Jerry with MacKinley, and it since being in the possession of the long-gone Dean.

Quotes: Eddie (to Scott): "Listen if I was you I'd forget about Ann because birds are like buses, there'll be another three along in a minute"  Scott: "And this is a bloke who spends two nights with a bird and thinks he's in a long-term relationship!".

·          Foreshadowing: The strain of three months apart for Luis and Lynda’s relationship while he was recovering in San Diego is getting more evident, as he accuses her of ruining his chances in the World Cup just so she can get her £5M.

Continuity: At some point since the crash, Fletch has met up with Dean who gave him Sean’s video diary.

·          Additional Info: Before today’s game, Fletch has scored only once since the new year.

What Was The Score?: At the UEFA Cup Quarter Final First Leg, the teams go in 0-0 at half time. As an injured Billy is stretchered to the side of the pitch, a corner kick from Stanković sees Fletch score, to the betrayed jeering of the Harchester fans. The teams meet again in Palma next week.

·          Soundtrack: Ricky Martin: "Maria",  Tina Turner: "Simply the Best"
