GS: D.I. Dawson (Eddie O’Connell) Marilyn arrives at the club to find her office door locked and her possessions waiting in black bags. Sandra awkwardly tells her Jerry wants to see her in his office. Marilyn sits before Jerry who accuses her of introducing minority shareholders to Prash, who with Lynda’s 15% will overtake him as majority shareholder. When Jerry says she will be selling her own shares to Prash next, Marilyn snaps she wasn't going to, but is now. Jerry says he has shredded her contract and says goodbye to Marilyn. Jerry returns home where he tells Maxine he has got to find a way of getting Lynda's shares. Low and behold Lynda turns up on the doorstep, back for another attempt to record Jerry but telling him she wants to come home. Lynda tells Jerry Luis was the biggest mistake of her life, and acts impressed that Jerry loved her so much that he'd risk years in prison to have someone killed. Jerry tells her he's always loved her and hugs Lynda while an uncomfortable Luis listens in. Lynda continues to question Jerry on the shooting, and sitting next to her on the sofa he sees part of the wire down her top. Jerry pulls the recording device out and storms outside to confront Scott grows tired of Ann and dinner guest Didier discussing the arts and lays into Didier insulting the culture of the French. Ann is embarrassed and Didier puts Scott in his place before Scott storms out to party with Eddie and pull a girl in Studs. Lynda sits down to a meeting with Prash and Marilyn, and rejects the £1M offer stating she knows he paid Jack Fellows £4M for the same amount of shares. Prash weasley tries to explain away that they might have been worth that a couple of weeks ago, but Lynda is having none of it and gives Prash her terms - that he release Luis from his contract. Prash is adamant he won't, as Rodriguez is the biggest asset the club has. Lynda implies it's a pity and walks away, while Prash thinks Marilyn greatly underestimated her. Scott returns to Ann who slaps him for his behaviour, before smelling (obviously cheap) perfume from the girl, and knows he's cheated. An unimpressed Prash tells Marilyn he got involved on the understanding that he would easily gain control on the club, and without Lynda's shares he doesn't have that, and now doesn't trust Marilyn to run the club for him. Marilyn tells him she risked everything to get him the shares he has, and while grateful, Prash offers her £400K for her own shares, telling her it's the best she's going to get. Ann packs her things, and tells Scott while she'll always be thankful he showed her she was marrying the wrong man, it is for the best they part as he would have cheated sooner or later. Ray has returned from Kitty and William in Notes: Last appearance of Marilyn Harwood (Amanda Abbington) · The Best: Lynda showing she'd done her homework for the true value of her shares, and accusing Prash of trying to rip her off and Marilyn of taking advantage. Marilyn, ultimately achieving what she set out to do by bringing in Prash to keep the club afloat, but then losing her role within with the expected sacking from Jerry, and being dropped like a hot stone by Prash upon the first hiccup. Her final scene with Ray shows the great chemistry the two had, almost as if the potential for an affair Ray later has with Lynda could have been played out with Marilyn. Quotes: Marilyn’s "There's a toilet at the ground that has the words 'Dizzy' and 'Tart' written about Lynda” shows not just her no longer needing to hide her views now Jerry had cut ties, but the real resentment Marilyn held for Lynda. More than being put-out that Luis wanted Lynda instead of her, you can almost picture Marilyn would have been very jealous of the businesswoman Lynda would ultimately become at the club. · Additional Info: As chairman, Jerry has a controlling interest of 46%, now only 12% ahead of Prash. Soundtrack: Gabrielle: "Give Me A Little More Time”, DJ Jean: "The Launch", ATB: "Don't Stop" |
