GS: Charlie Gerard (Lloyd Martin) Laura Buchanan (Jayne McKenna) Olivia Alexander (Deborah Olaifa) Zak Alexander (Shaun Stamp) When Lynda learns she is to be tried for murder, she tells her lawyer Laura she will avoid a trial and plead guilty. Linton continues to taunt Stevie with how tomorrow is Zak's birthday party, and then gets Nikki to help plan the day. Linton's mind games are affecting Stevie's performance, and he is in danger of losing his place to Robbie Walsh, who has just been promoted to the first team. After nearly injuring Danny in training, Patrick sends Stevie off. When Sam believes Lynda will spend a few months in an open prison with Claudia running the club, Lynda tells him his daughter may never be ready which a hurt Claudia overhears. Claudia runs away before hearing Lynda say she is too nice a person to run a football club where you have to be guarded and not open. Fletch, again lacking in his home security, finds Claudia waiting in his jacuzzi where she reveals all about the plan for he to publicly forgive Lynda right before her trial. Having been given the heads-up from Claudia, Fletch is ready when Sam comes round to plead Lynda's case, and the chairman is shocked at Fletch's uncaring nature for Lynda's future. Linton's team mates hold a kickabout for Zak's birthday in the park, and when Tash and Nikki get distracted talking about Tash's pregnancy cravings, Olivia wanders off. Lynda is walking by the canal and spots Olivia trying to retrieve her ball from the railings. Stevie appears in time and grabs hold of Olivia, saving the day. Nikki gets a taste of Linton's nasty side when he holds her responsible for Olivia disappearing, and when Stevie walks up carrying Olivia, he demands Linton apologise to Nikki. That night, Linton cries to Nikki that his first born son, Michael, died two years ago today on Zak's birthday. It was another birthday party and Linton found Stevie in bed with his wife Chantelle, and Stevie didn't lock the door so nine-year-old Michael ran out into the road and was killed. As they leave for the match, Fletch and Stevie see a police car pull up outside Lynda's, with a commotion for her to come outside. Fletch can't hide his concern, but Stevie is distracted by Linton playing happy families with Nikki and his kids. Lynda opens the door to be told by Laura that she missed her bail signing, having taken sleeping pills due to exhaustion. Patrick announces his line-up, and Stevie is relieved to hear he will be captaining the team after all. After Sam blames him for putting pressure on Lynda, Fletch ditches watching the game and goes to see Lynda at home. Fletch reveals to Lynda Claudia's story on how Sam would send him to forgive her, and she is shocked. In the tunnel going out for the second half, Linton taunts Stevie about Nikki and Stevie flies at him, the ref red carding Stevie. Soon Fletch and Lynda are making out, when Sam arrives to see her. Fletch hides, and overhears Sam telling Lynda he loves her. Fletch sneaks out of the house, witnessed by Claudia. Nikki goes looking for Stevie in the dressing room, and when he sees her he yells he doesn't want to see her again until an upset Nikki runs out. Notes: First regular appearance of Robbie Walsh, whose actor Scott Mean had first appeared in the Harchester squad in 5.7 (#235) 36 Hours In Dublin. The Best: Zoe offering to give evidence over how Prash treated Lynda at her trial, as none of them want her to go to prison, which touches Lynda.
