GS: Charlie Gerard (Lloyd Martin) Gemma McKenzie ( At a function to celebrate Harchester reaching the UEFA Cup Semi Final, Sam announces for his wedding gift to Lynda he will be giving her the club. Lynda is stunned, as is Claudia, who runs to Victoria's room where the cheating Jamie has to hide quickly. Claudia can't let her father marry Lynda in two weeks and let her take the club that was supposed to be hers, so enlists Victoria to help rip Sam and Lynda apart. In return for helping get rid of Lynda, Victoria wants Claudia to honour the deal Prash cheated her out of, that she will be marketing manager with shares in the club. Lynda turns up at Fletch's with they both unaware of the plot to bring them together. Fletch wants to know what Sam gives Lynda that he himself possibly couldn't? Lynda explains Sam makes her feel safe, and it's not the club or the money she wants from him. Not knowing what future she's got, Lynda tells Fletch he needs to forget her, but soon they are kissing as the camera catches it all. Jamie's conscience gets the better of him, and when he has hold of the tape, chooses to give it to Lynda. Lynda learns Jamie watched she and Fletch on the tape, so knows she walked away after their kiss. Lynda decides she will give Claudia and Victoria a tape of her own. Fletch refuses to help Lynda make a new tape for she is still committed to marrying Sam, so Jamie asks him to do it to protect Tash and the baby from his infidelity. Victoria and Claudia watch the tape, which features Fletch and Lynda in an uneventful chat over the upcoming Moscow game. Lynda sits with Fletch in the stands before he joins the team to fly out, and when he tells her he loves her, all Lynda can say is it isn't enough and she has chosen Sam. Notes: The Best: We’ve been getting some good fight/punch scenes recently following on last episode’s Stevie/Linton, and here Danny goes to Foreshadowing: Sam announces he and Lynda's wedding day has been set for May 5th (5.32 Forsaking All Others). Continuity: Sam makes a speech about how 104 years ago a group of men from the local Tannery formed a football team that became Harchester United. In fact it has been longer because at the FA Cup Final between Harchester and Man United in 2.76, Richard Keys refers to Harchester’s already 104-year history. Soundtrack: Dido: "Honestly OK” and "It's My Life”, Jamiroquai: "Little L", Left Front Tire: "Bring You Down", Nickleback: "Good Times Gone" |
