GS: Linzie Ferguson (Emma Gill) Yvonne Allardyce (Joanne
Farrell) Richard Keys (as
himself) Andy Gray (as
himself) Hope Parker (Olivia Sofie Newman) Patrick is a guest of
Sky Sports as Harchester play Nikki takes Curtis
for dinner to cheer him up, and when he pays out of an envelope with cash, he
explains it is from a PA he just did. When Alan has a special
delivery package delivered to reception, Jennifer takes hold of
it, and opening it in the ladies sees it is an engagement ring she thinks is
for her. When Fletch learns about Jamie paying twenty grand for Tash's bond,
he drops his Curtis suspicions and gets into Jamie's room at the Grange.
Fletch searches until Tash catches him and he shares his theory. Tash is
suspicious about why Jamie had £20K in cash, and he explains it away as being
from a sponsorship Jeff sorted. When
Jeff denies any knowledge of this, Tash is even more concerned. Tash knows
the code to Jamie’s safe - Hope's birthday. She
finds the safe full of cash, and when Jamie gets there, Tash tells him she
believes what Fletch told her regarding Patrick. Jennifer arrives at the
function just as Alan is asking Yvonne to be his wife. She accepts and a
distraught Jennifer runs out. Alan goes after her, and claims he was never
going to marry Yvonne and it's she he wants. Jennifer pushes him off, kneeing
him in the balls, and is nearly run over by Fletch. As he stops at
a petrol station, Fletch spots Curtis meeting Patrick across the forecourt.
This convinces Fletch that Curtis was always the guilty man, and he brings
Jamie to Tash, apologising for what he said. Jamie explains the money by
telling Tash he has been gambling again. Jamie returns to his room, where he
finds Patrick waiting. Patrick tells him with Fletch still believing it's
Curtis, they are on the home straight. Notes: The Best: The story of just who in the team was Doyle's on-the-pitch mole
is quite an underrated mystery compared to DT's other whodunit plots, like
S4's Who killed Prash and S9's Mystery owner.
Before knowing the outcome, it isn't obvious that it is Jamie, with Curtis
also under suspicion, but good suspects are also Sully who has been
given more dialogue, and new additions Clyde and Bobby
Thompson. Quotes: Jamie has Linzie's number: "Jeff, why haven't you answered
my calls. I've had to go round to the house and prize your schedule out of
that gormless nanny!". Marcel [to
Sandra on Alan]: “Where is he, and where's the lovely Jennifer" Sandra
(put out): "Miss Moneypenny? No idea" and walks off. I think she’ll
find Monday Bandele’s fiancée Lola is Miss
Moneypenny! Additional
Info: Harchester's appeal against their six-point deduction
will be held the day before the FA Cup semi-final. Tash mentions the FA have
banned Jeff as an agent for six months. Fletch’s
usage of a petrol station on the A53 road whilst driving home, plus the
sighting in 7.1 Groundhog Day that Harchester is only two miles from Tamworth, gives us the
nearest geographical placing that Harchester is in the county of
Staffordshire. What Was The
Score?: Harchester draw 1-1 at home to Middlesbrough
with a goal from Szilárd Németh,
though we don’t learn the Dragon’s scorer. Soundtrack: Sofa Surfers: "Sofa Rockers", The White Stripes: "I Think I Smell A
Rat", Moby: "18" and
