While Harchester appeal against the FA's decision to dock them six points, Fletch suspects Jamie of being in on the bet with Patrick and breaks into his room to find evidence.
Harchester are leading 1-0 but Curtis is still not putting away his shots. In the last minute Jamie Parker makes a terrible mistake causing a Boro player to slot home the rebound. The game finishes 1-1 and that's two points lost for Harchester.
Patrick Doyle is in the stadium with Sky Sports discussing the game. He tells everyone that Harchester were very unlucky and should have won. He tells Andy Gray that he feels Jamie Parkers mistake was a freak accident. Andy backs the goalie though saying it was Curtis Alexander's fault as he had 3 or 4 of the easiest chances he's ever going to get and he couldn't put them away. Patrick tells the two pundits that he feels that Alexander is a confidence player and he's quite obviously lost his confidence. Patrick is then asked if he thinks Harchester will go down. He tells them he is praying Harchester don't get the 6 point deduction as it will break his heart to see them go down. Phil, watching on TV is furious. The talk between the three finish and Patrick gets up to leave.
In the dressing room, Jamie is blaming himself for the mistake. Fletcher is laying into Curtis for not being able to score tap ins though, and he accuses Curtis of not caring. Patrick comes into the dressing room telling the boys that they could not have tried any harder than they did. Jamie then leaves. Stuart is trying to tell Curtis to forget about what happened but he explains that he can't as he missed a simple open goal that would have won the team the match. He storms out the dressing room.
Patrick is waiting in the toilet looking at his watch when a Harchester player walks in. Patrick pays him 20 grand and tells him he can have another 50 if he keeps up the good work.
Fletch leaves the dressing room to bump into Patrick. The old manager tells Karl that it isn't to late for him to join the bet and reminds him that he isn't the only one in the bet.
Phil and Alan are both in the boardroom. They tell the press that they have appealed against the 6 point ban and the FA will give them the results on April 12th, a day before the FA cup semi final. The woman journalist that spent time with Alan on his golf trip asks him why he joined the club and makes a laughing stock of him.
Meanwhile, in the players lounge, Marcel is not happy and wants to speak with Alan. He has not played since Alan has took over. Jennifer tells him he is busy and should speak with him tomorrow, he tells her though that he will wait. Jennifer goes to see Alan telling him that Marcel is in his office. Alan tells her to tell him that he'll see him Monday with the rest of the boys as he is off to London.
Tash goes to see Jamie who is staying at The Grange. He tells her that he is not happy and he cannot believe he made the mistake. He tells her how he dreads touching the ball now the team is fighting relegation. He tells her that he cannot take it anymore, if the team go down he'll be branded a failure.
Marcel who is still in his office is furious. Jennifer tells him that he can either wait in the office all weekend or comes and get a drink at The Grange with her.
Karl is busy at home looking through tapes. He is convinced it must be Alexander taking the bribe after seeing all the chances he has missed. Abi is not pleased that this is all he is interested in.
Tash is still with Jamie and she tells him that she will be paying Phil 20% of her pay every week until she pays back the one million pounds, even though it will take ages. She tells him that she loves her new job selling clients and working with them and she is going to do everything to succeed. Jamie asks if next season, she could sell him and she happily agrees. Jamie then goes to his bag pulling out money, he gives her 20 grand and says he'll give her more next week. They begin kissing, Tash stops, they start again but then she leaves telling Jamie that it's Linzie's night off.
Curtis is in the bar with Nikki. He tells her that he's lost his scoring touch but Nikki believes in him. The bill arrives for the drinks and dinner they had. Curtis tells Nikki he left his wallet in the car. He doesn't let Nikki pay though and pulls out a bag of cash. He tells her that he did a job and they paid him in cash.
It's the next day in training and Curtis is doing pretty well. Fletch is not happy and tells him that it's strange he can do it in training but not in a game. He practically tells him that he thinks he's being paid to play badly. Curtis tells him that if he is going to say something like that then he should say it in front of the manager. They both go up to see him. Alan tells Curtis to go back to work and if he burst in again he will be fined a weeks wages. The manager then has a go at Fletch saying he is paranoid. Alan tells him that it's his job as Captain to lift Curtis through his bad patch. If he doesn't then he'll be stripped of his armband.
Alan storms in to see Phil telling he is leaving, no matter how many contracts he has signed. He is not happy that players in the team are being paid to lose games. Phil tells him there is no truth in the lies. Alan tells him that he'll stay but if there's any proof that players are throwing games, he's out.
As Alan leaves he tells Sandra to bring a package that's being delivered up to his office. She asks where Jennifer is. He tells her that she's out shopping, but not to tell her anything about the package that's coming.
Tash goes to see Abi and tells her how she is now Chairwoman of her own company. She also tells her how Jamie is paying the bond, and how he pulled 20 grand in cash out of his wardrobe.
Sandra collects the package from reception, at the same time Jennifer goes to see what's going on. She tells Sandra that she's just about to go out but she'll take the package up to his office for her. Excitedly, she opens it and sees that it's a ring. She wraps it back up.
Meanwhile, Fletch goes to see Abi. He apoligises and tells her that he doesn't think Curtis is now throwing games. They decide to go home together, as they are getting in the car, Abi tells him that romance must be in the air as Tash and Jamie are getting back together. She also tells him about the money he gave her. Suddenly he realizes it's Jamie. He asks Abi to drop her off at The Grange. He gets in Jamie's room and goes searching for the cash. As he is looking Tash walks in. He makes up that he left his phone here the night before and thought that Jamie must have put it in the safe. Tash doesn't believe her and asks him what's going on. She realizes that Fletch thinks Jamie is throwing games and she is not happy. She cannot believe her best friend would think that. He then leaves, but she then isn't sure.
Back at the club, Jennifer takes the present up to a surprised Alan. He sends her back off, Jennifer still goes off to buy a nice dress, believing the present is a surprise for her.
Both Curtis and Ryan have gone out together to the car garage, looking at some cars, they decide to test drive one. Curtis asks for a discount on the car if he can give cash upfront. He gives a deposit off 20 grand and tells the salesman that he'll have the rest in cash by next Monday.
Jamie has gone back to his hotel room to find Tash there with Hope. He's very happy and begins comforting Hope. Tash asks where the money came from for the bung. He tells her that if he says she cannot tell anyone. Jamie explains that her Dad got him some promotion deals. Tash is furious thinking Jeff is swindling his own daughter. She goes round to see him. Jamie at the same time tells Hope that they better find Jeff before Natasha does.
At the club, Phil is talking to Jeff. He is telling he must sign the contract admitting to everything so he doesn't back out later. Tash barges in the room asking for a word. Tash asks what he thought he was playing at doing deals with Jamie but he tells her he hasn't a clue what he is talking about. Tash runs off, back to Jamie's.
Jennifer is back from shouting now and is in her hotel room. Still believing the present is for her, she puts on her dress. She then imagines Alan proposing to her until the door knocks.
Curtis, still at the showroom, tells Ryan that he'll have to drop him off at the club as he has to meet someone.
Everyone is beginning to turn up for the nibbles and drinks. Jennifer at the same time is wondering where Alan is. She rings Nikki and asks, and she tells her that everyone is waiting for him to arrive at the drinks do. Jennifer is shocked and does no what's going on. She finds out Alan is with that Sky Sports reporter. She leaves to go down there straight away.
Tash who has opened the safe in Jamie's room rings Jamie and tells him. Tash cannot believe him and is in tears on the sofa. Jamie who is now round with her, explains that what Fletch has said is stupid. She leaves in tears with Hope.
Everyone has arrived at the drinks do and Alan is holding a speech. Jennifer walks in at the same time to realize Alan is proposing to her. Evon Allardyce, the Sky Sports reporter agrees. Jennifer runs off crying, both Alan and Marcel notice and run after her.
Natasha has gone round to see Abi and tell her everything. Abi calls Fletch and tells him to come home and sort it all out.
Alan catches up to Jennifer in the lift saying that she's sorry and that he had to marry her to get her off his back. He tells her that she's the only one for him but she has had enough. She kicks him in the balls and runs off.
As Fletch is about to leave to go home and see Abi and Tash, he realizes he doesn't have much petrol left. He rings Abi telling her he'll have to stop for some petrol.
As Jennifer runs out Fletch nearly hits her, she doesn't get hurt though and Marcel takes her back indoors.
While Fletch is in the petrol station, looking over the way he sees Patrick… And Curtis together. They shake hands and walk in opposite directions.
Meanwhile, Marcel goes with Jennifer to her room and tries to comfort her. He tells her that if he chooses the Sky Sports reporter other her he's an idiot.
Fletch arrives home, with Jamie. He tells Tash that he's been an idiot and that it was not Jamie taking the bribes. He tells them that he saw Patrick get out of Curtis' car when he was filling up for petrol. Tash asks where Jamie got the money from and he explains he was gambling. He tells her that the reason he was giving her the money is though he would start gambling as his luck in winning is scaring him and it's soon to end.
Marcel and Jennifer are still in the hotel room, drinking themselves drunk. Jennifer openly asks if he's gay and he tells her he isn't. Marcel returns the compliment asking why she is so interested in Alan. She explains that he's exciting and she loves being wanted and needed. She explains how she just wants to be happy. Marcel tells her he has to go as he has training in the morning, he receives thanks and then he leaves.
Jamie has left Karl & Abi's and made his way back to his hotel room. As he gets there he is met by Patrick. He tells him that he has to stop as it's getting to dangerous but Patrick tells him it'll be alright. Patrick explains that they had some luck. Curtis asked to see him about a transfer and Karl Fletcher turned up seeing them together. Jamie is told a few more games and Harchester will be down.
