Alan Dossor directed 7
episodes of DT in Seasons 5 and 6. Dossor was the Artistic Director
of Liverpool's Everyman Theatre from 1970-75, with a vision of commissioning
plays that reflected every day local stories and people in the region. Prominently,
his production of "John, Paul, George, Ringo... and Bert" by Willy
Russell was transferred to the In TV directing, his credits
included "Softly Softly: Task Force" (2 episodes, 1976), "Don't
Forget to Write!" (4 eps, 1977), Play for Today (2 eps, 1978 & 1981),
"Goodnight and God Bless" (which he also produced) and "Johnny
Jarvis" (both 6 episodes, 1983), "Connie" (5 eps, 1985), "Between
the Lines" (8 eps, 1992-94), "No Bananas" (4 eps, 1996) and "Where
the Heart Is" (2 eps, 2000). In movies, he directed the Emmy
nominated "Star Quality" (1985), the BAFTA nominated "First
and Last" (1989) which he also produced, "The Missing Postman"
(1997) and "Bessie and the Alan's producing credits also
