GS: Receptionist (Peter Laird) Hope Parker (Olivia Sofie
Newman) At training, Robbie takes a knock
during a tackle with Ryan. Ryan (and Stuart) are convinced
he will be let go at the end of his trial so get a surprise when Patrick tells Ryan
he's in the squad for Saturday. Stuart is concerned things are moving too
fast for Ryan, and mentions to Patrick it might not be good for him, which
Robbie overhears. Fletch and Curtis set up Ryan's
initiation into the first team, by telling him he has to wear a tuxedo at his
first team dinner. Robbie lets slip to Ryan that it sounded like Stuart
doesn't think he has what it takes to make it in the first team. Tara sets up a
profile piece for Ryan at the time of his debut, and interviews Stuart and
Ryan together, under the impression that Ryan is Stuart's lodger. Following
which, Ryan goes on a drive with Robbie is ruled
out right before the Bolton Wanderers game. A goal from Fletch is too much
for Robbie to sit and watch, with Tash taking him
elsewhere. At full time, Phil tells Jacqui he can't sell the club, as without
it he is a plumber who won the lottery. But asks her to give him to the end
of the season and if he hasn't made it work he will sell. Stuart thinks he
was right and coming into the team this early has damaged Ryan's confidence,
but Patrick has other ideas. Stuart finds
Ryan at the training ground and gives him Patrick's news - that he is
offering Ryan a three-year contract. Ryan can't believe it, and there is a
tender moment between father and son when Stuart asks would Ryan sign under
the Naysmith name? Ryan is surprised to learn Stuart was named Man of the
Match and they celebrate his news by Stuart spraying his son with MOTM
champagne. Notes: Best Known For: Peter Laird's credits include Chang in
"Doctor Who" (3 episodes, 1968), "Sense and Sensibility"
(3 eps, 1971), "The Sandbaggers" (5 eps, 1980), Greville in
"Sapphire & Steel" (6 eps, 1981) and the adaptation of
Catherine Cookson's "The Man of Cried" (1993) The Best: Fletch and Curtis’s tuxedo initiation backfiring, because Ryan
is the best dressed man at the table while the team are in their training
kits. Quotes: The Grange’s receptionist playing his part in getting Jacqui to
see Phil: “He says if you don’t come down, he’s going to take all his clothes
off, and run around the hotel reception naked until you give him fifteen
minutes of your time!” What Was The
Score?: Following Fletch’s goal, a mistake from Ryan leaves
things 1-1 when Kevin Nolan scores, and is yellow carded when leaving Dean
Holdsworth on the ground. Ryan is taken off at half time and replaced by
Danny Mills, and it remains 1-1 at full time. Soundtrack: Moguai: "U Know Y",
