GS: D.I. Dawson (Eddie O’Connell) Marilyn lays down the law to Gordon as he packs up his things. His betting on Leeds to win yesterday will never come out, as it could land the club with a fine or points deducted. Marilyn gets onto Gordon's car which he was only to use when employed by the club, and he informs her he no longer has it due to his debt. When Marilyn tells him he is unbelievable, a remorseful Gordon responds he's an addict. A relived Wes and Billy watch Gordon's departure being reported by Sky Sports and Kelly adds she's heard Ray will be caretaker until Luis returns. Dawson turns up at the Block's, and says he's here to speak with Maxine following he and Lynda’s chat. Marilyn informs Ray that Charlton have made a revised offer for Michael which they need to sort with Jerry. Regarding Gordon, Marilyn tells Ray to say their pitchside run-in was solely over tactics, though Ray would love to expose Gordon further regarding the bet. Scott storms in on Gordon, asking if it’s true he was selling stories on the club. Scott warns Gordon if he finds out he was behind the story on he and Eddie when Jerry interrupts, and bluntly tells his former friend to go and get the help he needs elsewhere. Dawson questions Maxine about Jerry's comment, but she is less than helpful and won't confirm on what Jerry actually said. Michael immediately accepts Charlton’s offer, saying it's not just losing out to Didier in the team, it's Scott and Ann now. Billy and Wes decide to paint the flat blue after Kelly's magazine suggests it is the colour for sensual lovers! Michael is leaving the club for the last time. After a fond goodbye with Ansah, Scott crosses paths with Michael and when Michael doesn't accept his good wishes for Charlton, Scott taunts him that he belongs at Charlton not being Premier League. The animosity between the two turns to Ann, and Scott remarks that Michael doesn't know if he was the first Ann cheated with. Michael grabs hold of Scott, but decides he is not worth it. When Dawson tells Lynda he's got no further to go on, Lynda decides to tell Maxine what she believes. Scott's words have gotten to Michael and he asks Ann outright whether there were others before Scott. Jerry is about to attend the press conference unveiling Ray when Maxine tells him how Lynda is saying he was behind the Wembley shooting. Ann tells Michael she believes they probably got together too young, and she just didn't see herself spending the rest of her life with him. Michael is forced to accept and they hug, knowing it's over. Jerry uses how Lynda confessed her affair with Luis to him during the FA Cup Final as the excuse why he couldn't possibly have had the time to hire somebody to shoot Luis. Maxine thinks Lynda is still ill from the shooting, and says she'll back Jerry up when he sets out to take hold of Lynda's care. Michael sits outside the Lair one last time, before driving away. Ann goes to Scott's flat where the two are soon kissing once more. Notes: Last appearances of Michael Dillon (Noah Huntley) and Gordon Gallagher (Campbell Morrison) · The Best: Gordon telling Scott he is a great admirer of his talent, and advising him to steer clear of the gambling. Gordon with his belongings, passing Ray in the corridor as Ray heads to take up the manager’s office. Seeing the remorseful, tragic last version of Gallagher after the brass, loudmouth we’ve seen all season. A great job done by Campbell Morrison. Michael and Scott’s showdown, with Scott interestingly using Ann in a derogatory way to get at Michael. Michael and Ann’s goodbye, as Noah Huntley bows out following a good stint as the older, experienced captain. Foreshadowing: After getting through the decorating with Billy and Kelly, Wes feels he's pulled a muscle but brushes it aside. · Additional Info: Charlton offer £750K for Michael, though Jerry isn't happy as they paid Blackburn more when they signed him. Soundtrack: Lou Bega: "Mambo No. 5", S Club 7: "S Club Party", Travis: "Luv" |
